Jim Davidson will face no further action over allegations going back to the 1970s that he was once a criminally crap comedian who attempted to make people laugh, the CPS has said.

The 59-year-old was first arrested in January by detectives from Operation Yewtree, on allegations he had regularly abused audiences with an act full of corny, unfunny racist gags.

The CPS said it had considered 10 allegations against Mr Davidson but said there was “insufficient evidence that the suspect had ever actually made anyone laugh by telling a joke, let alone work as a professional comedian”.

Davidson was re-arrested in March after further allegations emerged that he had abused members of several BBC studio audiences by attempting to be funny on BBC premises.

Mr Davidson had consistently denied allegations he was ever a crap 1970s comedian known as ‘Uncle Nick Nick’ who was responsible for decades long abuse…

West Ham United 2 – Cardiff City 0: Cole and Nolan strike to sink Bluebirds (Video)

West Ham United managed a comfortable 2-0 win against newly promoted Cardiff City at Upton Park.

The Hammers won the game following a first half strike from Joe Cole and a stunning finish from captain Kevin Nolan in the second half.

Cardiff struggled all afternoon and the 2-0 victory momentarily put West Ham United second in the Premier League.

West Ham eased to the three points in front of their own fans, as Cardiff barely threatened going forward. It took just 12 minutes for Cardiff City’s Premier League fairytale to end abruptly.

West Ham welcomed them to the top-flight by taking an early 1-0 lead, as Cole scored an stunning goal to put the Hammers ahead.

The former England international picked up the ball on the edge of the Cardiff box, after a tremendous lung-bursting run from Matt Jarvis down the left.

If, perchance, you decided to search for the weather forecast for London on the BBC Weather website you would also be offered the additional option of checking out the weather in the country in which that city is situated.
